THE PLACE

We will stay at Haramara retreat, located near the quaint fishing town of Sayulita, a favorite surfing destination on the Nayarit Riviera, less than one hour away from Puerto Vallarta.

As reviewed by the Yoga Journal, this is one of the ten best yoga retreats in the world. This eco-chic style sanctuary was created with great care to provide a natural and supportive environment to connect, renew and restore well-being. Each guest room is housed in a private standalone thatched hut – made of all natural materials – and featuring exceptional ocean and jungle views.
The perfect place for digital-detox, as it has no TV, WiFi or even electricity. Lighting is provided by kerosene lanterns and candles. As a guest remarked, this retreat is “Robinson Crusoe meets Architectural Digest.”
Want to know more about Haramara? visit their site HERE.

For beach lovers: a private unspoiled beach within walking distance of one of the most famous surfing beaches on the Mexican Pacific coast. Also there’s a great endless swimming pool -overlooking the magnificent Pacific ocean- to refresh you.

Your culinary experience will be exquisite: award-winning chefs prepare natural, fresh, and creative food to tempt all of our senses.

THE YOGA INSTUCTOR

cynthia garcia yogaCynthia García
I’ve been for over ten years on the yoga path and worked with people with special needs in the Therapeutic area for 20 years. As a Yogi and a Psychomotor Activity professional I’m confident in the natural, self-sensing capacity of the body to open to the recognition of one’s essential nature.
In the year 2000 I traveled to London to work as an assistant in Vacanni School of Dancing and started my yoga practice in the Iyengar Yoga Institute of London.
Back in Mexico I continued my yoga practice with different instructors and did my 2 year’s Iyengar Yoga training and a Kid’s Yoga Training with Marsha Wening. Now I have my own yoga training in Mexico: Ganapati Yoganiños.
I’m currently doing a Therapeutic Yoga training in Yoga Space, meanwhile I teach yoga in different institutions like Rehabilitation Centers with Parinamma Yoga (yoga of transformation) and I certify instructors to work with children.
I’m happy to share all my knowledge in this retreat in such a wonderful place!
In this retreat we will be focused on our heart & mind, on how to connect them to enrich our vision of life thru the ancient techniques of yoga & meditation, in this breathtaking spot of the Mexican Pacific coast.

Then around 8:00pm we will enjoy an exquisite three course meal made with fresh products …and tons of love!

Temazcal, a healing experience
On the last day we will submerge ourselves in this purification ritual.

temazcal-experience-vallartThe temazcal -the traditional sweat lodge of pre-Hispanic origin- has survived from antiquity to our times as a healing experience and a space of prayer. To produce the heat, volcanic stones are heated by a shaman in a bonfire located on the far side of the temazcal; these are then placed in a pit inside of it to produce steam. The inside represents the womb of our Mother Earth where the earliest of moments are recreated and where things prepare to be born and reborn.

A week full of yoga and other fun activities:

Besides doing yoga, we will have time to enjoy the surroundings, explore the town of Sayulita (within walking distance), go to the beach, enjoy a massage, stone healing therapy or experience adventure in an optional excursion such as zip line riding, surfing, or horseback riding. You can book all of this at the retreat and with just one day in advance.
